The Sarah Forslund Fund for Environmental Leadership recently awarded their three annual grants.
A donor-advised fund of The Sierra Fund, supported entirely by individual donations in memory of TSF’s founding board member Sarah Forslund, the Fund awards annual grants to Green Corps, an organization led by a Green Corps alum, and a project or organization in the Sierra.
This year’s grants are to:
- Green Corps $6,000 – The Fund’s annual gift to the organization that has trained hundreds of young leaders in the skills of organizing and advocacy.
- Oregon Wild $2,000 — An organization working to protect and restore Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters as an enduring legacy for future generations.
- San Juan Ridge Taxpayer’s Association $2,000 — An organization working to promote the environmental, social and economic well-being of the San Juan Ridge community, located in Nevada County, California.
These organizations and projects are all examples of the Fund’s mission: to better the world through furthering the values by which Sarah Forslund lived her life: developing effective environmental leadership, supporting strong communities, and preserving our natural resources.
