Art Baggett and Fran Spivy-Weber named to the State Water Resources Control Board by Governor Schwarzenegger

Sacramento, February 23, 2007 —

Frances Spivy-Weber of Redondo Beach has been appointed to the State Water Resources Control Board. She has served as the executive director for policy for the Mono Lake Committee since 1997. From 1983 to 1992, Webber served as the director of international programs for the National Audubon Society. She previously was a legislative assistant for the Animal Welfare Institute from 1978 to 1982. Weber is a member of the Bay-Delta Public Advisory Committee and co-chair of its Water Use Efficiency Committee. She also serves as co-chair of the Southern California Water Dialogue and is a member of the California Urban Water Conservation Council. The position requires Senate confirmation. Weber is a Democrat.

Arthur Baggett, Jr. of Mariposa, has been appointed to the State Water Resources Control Board. He has served on the Board since 1999, as chair from 2000 to 2005. Before joining the Board, Baggett was an attorney specializing in water, environmental, business and family law. From 1986 to 1994, he served on the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors. Baggett currently is a member and past president of the Association of State and Interstate Water Pollution Control Administrators and is a former member of the Mountain Counties Water Association. This position requires Senate confirmation. Baggett is a Democrat.
