TSF Science Director Carrie Monohan receives fellowship

NEVADA CITY, 13 May 2010 – The Sierra Fund’s Science Director, Dr. Carrie Monohan, has been selected to receive a fellowship to attend 2042 Today:  Young Leaders Re-Imagining Conservation, a retreat cosponsored by Center for Whole Communities and the Center for Diversity and the Environment, to be held in Vermont’s Mad River Valley.

Carrie was nominated for the leadership qualities she has already shown within the national conservation movement.  This retreat is an innovative leadership development program for emerging conservation leaders under the age of 35 from around the country.

“I am thrilled at this opportunity to engage in the broader conservation movement!” commented Carrie.  “I’m looking forward to taking this community’s vibrant conservation energy to Vermont and bringing some inspiration, information and new skills back to the Sierra.”
