Calling Back the Salmon Ceremony and Indigenous Peoples Days Festivities this weekend!

Please join local tribes and community members for this special weekend to celebrate native peoples.  The Sierra Fund will be there!  There are several events open to the public: 

FRIDAY:
6:00pm – 7:30pm      
Indigenous Peoples Days
 Opening Ceremony and round dance  (downtown Nevada City at Union and Broad Street) 

SATURDAY:
7:00am                      
Sunrise Gathering on the Yuba River at Parks Bar (directions)

11:00am – 4:00pm    
Calling Back the Salmon Ceremony hosted by the Tsi-Akim Maidu Tribe, at Bridgeport State Park.  Salmon feast approximately 1:30pm.  (directions)

SUNDAY:
9:00am – 7:00pm       
Descendants circles and a day of celebration at the Maidu Active Cultural Center hosted by the Tsi-Akim Maidu Tribe (directions)

MONDAY (Indigenous Peoples Day):
10:00am – 7:00pm    
Indigenous Peoples Day Festivities at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City, hosted by the Tsi-Akim Maidu Tribe.  Includes:  Children’s Program from 10am-noon, Youth Panel  at 12:30, Elder Panel  at 2:00, Activist Panel at 3:30 and Dinner at 5pm.  (325 Spring Street, Nevada City)

1:00pm – 4:00pm      
Indigenous Peoples Day Cultural Program at the Firehouse No. 1 Museum, hosted by the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan Indian Tribe.  (214 Main Street, Nevada City)

Calling Back the Salmon Celebration in Lincoln, CA, hosted by Save Auburn Ravine Salmon and Steelhead with the participation of local tribal members (McBean Park, Lincoln, CA)
