The Sierra Fund will soon launch a new web-based resource for current and former students of Dr. Carrie Monohan, TSF Science Director and Adjunct Professor at California State University Chico. The Monohan Lab Group (MLG) webpage will offer a platform for Dr. Monohan’s alumni to stay engaged and in contact, to attract potential graduate students interested in working with TSF on research projects and to provide a clearinghouse of relevant resources and opportunities.

The webpage will highlight the research conducted by current students and alumni to enhance ecosystem and community resiliency in the Sierra Nevada, and will provide a key opportunity for members to contribute to and benefit from continued collaboration with The Sierra Fund and our partners. The goal is threefold:

Water Quality Monitoring on Humbug Creek
  • For alumni to stay connected;
  • For current and future student researchers to broaden connections; and
  • To attract new students and scientific advisors to our projects.

We believe there is immense value in building and maintaining personal relationships in the scientific community, and MLG offers a platform to do so. Additionally, TSF’s biennial conference will serve as a venue for MLG members to enhance relationship building, information sharing, and collaborative opportunity among participants.

We look forward to co-creating this resource with the researchers formerly or currently working to enhance scientific understanding of unique Sierra issues. Stay tuned for more information!
