Mark your calendars, Sierra advocates! The Sierra Fund and the Sierra Nevada Alliance have set Tuesday, May 6, 2008 as the date for our Fifth Annual Sierra Day in the Capitol. Our advocates will have several important issues to work on including:
– seeking support for the Sierra Nevada Conservancy proposed budget of $21.7 million, including $17 million for grant programs; and
– educating our legislators about the need for public investment in the Sierra, and distributing our beautiful conservation project portfolios with pictures and maps of projects that need funding.
We plan to include a short training for new advocates at the beginning of the day, snacks and a bag lunch, as well as a cocktail reception at a local restaurant at the end of the day.
Please RSVP as soon as you know you can attend, and get your friends and allies to sign up as well. Details on location and timing will be announced soon. Please email your reservation to: Kerry.Morse@SierraFund.org
