The Sierra Fund (TSF) is seeking a bilingual Environmental Justice Community Organizer, responsible for leading the implementation of TSF’s Disadvantaged Community (DAC) Outreach Program in the Cosumnes, American, Bear, Yuba (CABY) watershed region.
The Environmental Justice Community Organizer will identify key stakeholder groups and leaders in the regional Spanish language community and increase the engagement of these constituents in the CABY Integrated Regional Watershed Management (IRWM) Group and the Mountain Counties Disadvantaged Community Involvement (DACI) process. This position will also work to increase the amount and accessibility of information on exposure to mining toxics, notably mercury in fish, among Spanish speakers in the Sierra Nevada and assumes responsibilities for related public health outreach projects.
