The Sierra Fund’s CEO Elizabeth “Izzy” Martin will help kick off the Sierra Nevada Alliance‘s (SNA) 25th anniversary conference taking place August 15-17 in Kings Beach, CA by participating in the Opening Panel featuring leaders of Sierra organizations discussing how best to create a framework for “Regional Resiliency,” this year’s conference theme.
Izzy will launch the panel and frame the issue by describing The Sierra Fund’s strategy to increase investment in the Sierra Nevada in order to increase the region’s resiliency, to the benefit of all of California. The panel will be moderated by SNA CEO Jenny Hatch and will include representatives from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Forest Legacy, National Forest Foundation, Sierra Water Workgroup, and Sierra Watch.
The Opening Panel is scheduled for Thursday, August 16 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, directly following the conference keynote Richard Heinberg, Senior Fellow of the Post Carbon Institute and a prolific advocate for a shift away from fossil fuel reliance.
SNA’s 25th anniversary conference will feature two days of speakers and workshops and a hands-on opportunity to participate in a restoration project at Prosser Creek. To learn more about the event and to register, click here.
