Yuba River

All interested members of the public are invited to attend a virtual public meeting being held as part of the adoption of the 2021 Update of the Cosumnes American Bear Yuba (CABY) Integrated Regional Water Management Plan (IRWMP). The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021, from 1 pm to 3 pm (or until all comments have been received).  The CABY IRWMP will vote to finalize Plan adoption at the conclusion of the meeting.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the meeting will be entirely virtual, using both web meeting and telephone call-in. To join the meeting, use this web link to register in advance.

The CABY Regional Water Management Group (RWMG) members have been working on this Plan update for several years. They will present a brief overview of the changes to the 2021 IRWMP update. An electronic copy of the 2021 Plan update can be accessed here:

Since the last public meeting, held May 5, 2020, the Plan has been changed by the RWMG in the following ways:

  • Insights, information and projects, developed from outreach to the CABY region’s disadvantaged communities and tribes, were woven into the Plan
  • Plan Chapter 4 (Governance) was revised to refer to water agency member organizations individually rather than as a Joint Powers Authority
  • Chapter 12 (Project Selection Process) was revised to provide additional guidelines for project selection
  • New projects have been added to the CABY Project List. The project list is available for download:

The public is invited to comment on the plan’s scope, content, and projects.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you are urged to provide your comments in writing to the RWMG by Wednesday, February 4 at 1:00 pm. Please send written comments to Your written comments will be acknowledged when received.
