Register now for Reclaiming the Sierra – and volunteers needed!

Registration is open now for “Reclaiming the Sierra:  A Community Summit on Mining Impacts” November 8-9, 2010 at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City.  The Community Summit will focus on the positive actions that Sierra residents, businesses, leaders, government agencies, and tribes can take to protect their health, and clean up their communities and the environment.  This is a free public conference, but registration is required!   For more information and to register, go to:  www.sierrafund.org/MiningSummit

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Postering:  Summit posters need to be put up NOW in towns across the Sierra Nevada.  We can send you printed posters to put up, or you can print this 11×17 poster:  Poster File
  • Network! Circulate info about the Summit to your Facebook network, tweet about it, or just talk about it with your family and friends.  Facebook event
  • Publicize:  Send the press release about the Summit to your local paper, radio station, community calendar, or organization’s e-newsletter.  Press release
  • Help out before, after, and at the Summit:  Volunteers are needed for setup, registration, manning powerpoint projectors, tear down, and other odd jobs.
