Rose Foundation partners with The Sierra Fund on Humbug Creek Assessment Project

31 December 2012 – The Sierra Fund is thrilled to announce that the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment is the newest supporter of our multi-year project to assess historical mining impacts in the Humbug Creek Watershed.

The Rose Foundation grant of $30,000 will partially fund our activities over the next year to work with State Parks, South Yuba River Citizens League, and California State University Chico to assess the sources of historical pollution in the watershed, which drains the Malakoff Diggins hydraulic mine pit, and identify management recommendations for the watershed.

Other supporters of this key pilot project include the Sierra Nevada Conservancy and Bella Vista Foundation.
