Sacramento, CA —
The Proposition 50 Sierra Nevada-Cascade Conservation Grant Program in the Resources Agency provides funding for acquisitions to protect water quality in lakes, reservoirs, rivers, streams and wetlands in the Sierra Nevada-Cascade Mountain Region. This competitive program will award grants to local public agencies, local water districts and nonprofit organizations.
The boundaries of this program are the same as the geographic area for the Proposition 12 Sierra Nevada-Cascade grant program (see map at: http://www.resources.ca.gov/bond/grantmap50.pdf)
Eligible projects must be acquisitions of land and/or water rights that meet at least one of the four statutory purposes listed in the draft guidelines.
The Public Comment Period for the draft grant program guidelines starts December 1, 2005 and ends at 4:00 P.M. January 31, 2006.
Three public meetings will be held to brief interested parties and solicit public comments on the DRAFT guidelines:
