Today the new Sierra Nevada Conservancy released its second draft version of its Strategic Plan. This revised plan reflects input from community forums held throughout the region about the first Strategic Plan. A revised draft of the plan may be viewed by visiting their website at www.sierranevada.ca.gov. Public comments on this revised draft are welcome and comments received by close of business, July 3 will be considered prior to a final draft document being released on July 7, 2006. The final draft will be considered for adoption by the Board at their July 20 board meeting in Visalia.
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy celebrated the opening of their new offices in Auburn on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, in an evening event that included speeches by Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman, Jim Branham of the Conservancy, and Terry Taminem, former Secretary for Cal-EPA who serves on the Governor's cabinet. Beautifully prepared locally grown food was provided by PlacerGrown, and live music provided by the Placer Arts Council.
