Governor Brown’s proposed budget, released January 10, included full funding for the Sierra Nevada Conservancy in the amount of $4.79 Million, a slight increase over the 2012-2013 budget. This continues his support of the Conservancy’s staff and administrative programs.
The majority of the funding for the Conservancy staff and administration comes from the Environmental License Plate Fund, with no funding from the state’s General Fund. The budget includes the last bit of funding for grant-making from Proposition 84, about $530,000 to disburse as grants over the next year.
