South Yuba River Citizen's League 5th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival tickets go on sale

Nevada City, CA —

It’s official! Tickets are now on sale for the wildly popular Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival. With more than 110 films, 30 premieres, and 70 visiting filmmakers and activists, SYRCL’s Film Festival is now the largest film festival of its kind in the nation. From January 12–14, 2007, Nevada City is proud to host the 5th annual event.

According to the SYRCL website “The words “Truth, Hope and Action” epitomize what we’ve found in so many of this year’s films, and you’ll see these words on the festival poster, t-shirts and around the venues. We believe that this year’s films will educate you about the world’s environmental problems, and instill in you a sense of hope that we all have the power to do something.

This year we’ve expanded the film festival to include a full day on Sunday, so that we can showcase more films and speakers from around the world. You’ll have more time to meet extraordinary people at our new Activism Center and at ”Chat with the Filmmaker” sessions hosted by local restaurants. Watch movies about brave people from all around the world, many of whom risk their lives on a daily basis to save the places they treasure. We have over 30 films that are World, US, and Northern California premiers.”

Buy your tickets in advance to ensure that you see some of the best and newest environmental films in the world. You can attend receptions and art shows hosted by Nevada City’s businesses, and have a chance to meet filmmakers, activists, and special guests of the film festival. The event program will be available on December 4 online, around town, and at the SYRCL office 216 Main St, Nevada City, CA.

This is a standing-room-only event so buy your tickets early! And don't forget – discounted tickets are available to SYRCL members!
