Join Elizabeth “Izzy” Martin, CEO of The Sierra Fund, as she recounts some personal reflections about that first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. She even shares a Freshman year photo from the 1971 Ygnacio Valley High School yearbook – taken 18 months after Earth Day – and one of Izzy at Dark Lake in the Sierra Nevada when she was five years old.
This is just the first in a series of “lunch-n-learn” programs which will provide a virtual platform for connecting around projects that restore ecosystem and community resiliency in the Sierra Nevada. The series begins with the Earth Day Presentation today April 22, celebrating the 50 year history of Earth Day and then introducing The Sierra Fund’s strategic approach towards restoring ecosystem and community resiliency in the Sierra Nevada, a critical component of the environmental movement in California. Beginning next week, each Monday the release of each video will be followed by a Wednesday “lunch-n-learn” which will open the floor for a virtual Q&A to broaden and deepen our understanding of the projects and the role they play in protecting our beloved Sierra Nevada.
