TSF Welcomes New Staff

The Sierra Fund is excited to welcome two new staff members, Environmental Justice Community Organizer Greg Thrush and Environmental Scientist Nick Graham.

Greg joined the team in April 2018 and brings a wide range of experience, including in public health research, community outreach and education, legal work and agriculture. Greg is bilingual in Spanish and English and is working to engage our regional Spanish speaking communities with issues that impact their environmental health, including legacy mining contaminants and water quality and access. Nick came on board just last week, but is well acquainted with The Sierra Fund. He earned a Masters of Science from CSU, Chico under the direction of Dr. Carrie Monohan, TSF Science Director and Adjunct Professor at CSU, Chico. His thesis research investigated the effect of metal-based coagulants on the sedimentation of fine grain materials as part of the Nevada Irrigation District’s Combie Reservoir Sediment and Mercury Removal Project. At TSF, Nick will assist with implementing our Ecosystem Resiliency Program to restore the forests, meadows and rivers impacted by the 19th Century Gold Rush. To read Nick’s full bio, click here.
