The Nevada County Elections Department is hosting two voter education workshops in April to help Spanish speakers navigate the new voting process, which is designed to provide more flexibility in terms of when, where and how voters cast their ballot. The workshops will be held in Grass Valley and Truckee, and will be conducted in Spanish.

The Sierra Fund was invited to participate in the County’s Language Accessibility Committee, formed to ensure that Spanish-speaking voters in Nevada County have equal access to important information about the new voting process. TSF has engaged in rigorous review of the County’s Election Administration Plan and we have encouraged robust and targeted outreach to Spanish speakers, including by helping to design outreach materials like the voter education workshop flyer below.
